Say again?

First of all, Baby Balin wasn't an "accident".  We just thought we'd have a few more months of practicing before we hit the baby jackpot.  You know, plenty of time to figure out family-appropriate vehicles or sell a kidney to pay for daycare.  Damn our efficiency!  Oh well.

Even though we were trying, I wasn't going to let that keep me from having an adult beverage when I went out with the ladies.  I have plenty of girlfriends that have had a drink or two before they were confirmed preggers and things turned out just fine.  Ian, my husband, thought differently, taking it upon himself to hiss at me, "You'd better not give me a tar-tar baby!"

Now, I would have been well within my rights to point out that correct grammar slang would have been "re-re baby", but I wasn't sure correcting one socially atrocious phrase with another would get me anywhere.  And so "tar-tar baby" stuck.

Now, apparently the nickname "tar-tar baby" isn't considered acceptable in certain circles.  So we have modified the name to "Fishstick" as he has already most likely been doused in "tar-tar sauce" - whether this refers to the beverages I had before confirming pregnancy or Ian and I's DNA could go either way.

Regardless, Fishstick is on its way!  And we are super excited.  Even though I have already finished my first trimester, I'm going to go back and share some of our first trimester episodes for your general delight.
